Sometimes You Just Have to watch the sunrise

Sometimes you have to watch the sunrise. The chaos of our lives tears unmercifully at our peace and the unrelenting need “ to do", whips at our consciousness like a cruel taskmaster. A sleepless night beckoned me to the stillness of a darkened house and as I waited, splinters of light drove their way into my quietness. I could not help but be drawn to the majesty of golden hues rising on the horizon before me. No words were spoken but a rendezvous with a familiar friend spoke words to my soul that no human ear could hear. It's a new day. Whatever crises or turmoil ended your day yesterday, today is a new day overflowing with new mercies and fresh potential. Because you are alive you have a chance to right any wrongs and mend any fractures. You have the power to bless abundantly those who cross your path today and you have something in your very soul and spirit that someone else is waiting to receive from you today. Sometimes you have to watch the sunrise to know that life is not just all about you. Knowing someone else has the mysteries of the universe firmly and purposefully in His hand, is the knowledge that brings me peace each morning and the motivation I need to lay down my own burdens and place them in the hands of the One who can carry them much more capably than me. As I surrender my cares and worries in the glow of the morning light, fresh perspective and a thankful heart make way for new opportunities and Divine appointments. Sometimes you just have to watch the sunrise.
